Partner and Family Appointments

As a partner or family member you might feel like a secondary victim of the police investigation. The sanctity and safety of your home may feel violated. You might be feeling bewildered, overwhelmed, angry or frightened, and not know who you can speak to. You may also be dealing with input from social services as well as monetary worries and additional caring responsibilities.

A one-hour appointment with a compassionate and experienced Safer Lives practitioner gives you the opportunity to talk about your emotions and fears. It can also help you to gain a better understanding of what the investigation means for you and the wider family.

If your partner or family member is already working with Safer Lives, an appointment costs £70. Otherwise, it is £120. Appointments are only available to partners and family members aged 18+.

What Our Clients Say About Our Appointments for Partners and Family Members

"This is truly a low point in our lives and the practitioner showed non-judgemental insight and care that made me feel like we are not alone and that there is a path forward. I know that my husband feels the same way about the help he is receiving too. The practitioner helped me to gain some perspective which has been immensely valuable to me. I am so grateful that we have the help of your organisation, most especially for my husband, but also for me."  - Partner of a Safer Lives Client

"The separate session held with my wife was invaluable in helping her try to understand my behaviour - and deal with her feelings and concerns."  - Safer Lives Client

"The practitioner spent a session with my wife to take her through the processes of the Justice system which I felt she needed to hear. He was kind, compassionate and more importantly understanding."          - Safer Lives Client
